Donut Larsen grew up in the Deep South. At 17, he ended up in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he discovered traveling folk and the street music that was popular with them at the time: The Devil Makes Three, Blackbird Raum, The Builders and the Butchers, and more. Donut took all of that and ran with it, incorporating it seamlessly into the grunge and punk style he was playing with at the time. 12 years later in 2024, a video of Donut playing his music for beer went viral online, and he started to take music more seriously. Since then, he has recorded and released an album independently, played his biggest show with Oliver Anthony to more than 3000 people, been featured in Newsweek, met a few heroes, and begun to build a worldwide interest in his music. He has charted in the top 20 for country artists in countries like Switzerland, Australia and the UK, and was in the top 3 most streamed country/bluegrass musician in Ukraine in November of 2024.
