London-based alt-pop/rock artist Sofia Gobbi is making waves with her sharp-witted storytelling, infectious melodies, and anthemic sound. Born to an Italian father and Californian mother, she creates music that lives in contrast: confident yet vulnerable, ridiculous but real, messy and intentional. Her debut album Bigger Man launched to half a million streams in January 2026, earning her BBC Introducing Featured Artist of the Week spot upon release.
Since releasing viral fan favourite “That Ass!” — the album’s lead single, which amassed over 100,000 streams in its first week and was selected as one of Spotify’s Best Rock/Alt Songs of 2025 — Gobbi has earned regular BBC Radio 1 airplay, secured placements in 90+ official Spotify editorial playlists (including five covers), and received acclaim from the likes of Line of Best Fit, DIY, Earmilk, and CLASH, who hailed Bigger Man as “an alt-pop sensation”. Last year, songs from the record also earned recognition in four of the world’s leading songwriting competitions — the ISC, ASC, UKSC, and JLSC — establishing her as a songwriter to watch.
Recent live highlights include opening for touring artists across London, performing at Hanwell Hootie Festival, and being selected by Lionsgate and Time Out London to perform at Power Ballad Live, the premiere event for the feature film Power Ballad starring Nick Jonas and Paul Rudd. Most recently, she made her international festival debut at Sardinia’s Ateneika Festival, in Italy, performing to a sold-out crowd ahead of Italian breakout star Ditonellapiaga.
Working with acclaimed producers Tom Stafford (Orla Gartland, GRACEY) and Grammy-nominated Andrea Mastroiacovo (Olivia Dean, Lewis Capaldi, Sigrid), Gobbi blends the raw edge of indie rock with the polish and immediacy of modern pop, establishing herself as a bold new voice bridging the indie and mainstream worlds.
