Saucers Over Washington

Taking their name from the famous UFO flap that occurred in the Washington D.C. area in July 1952, Saucers Over Washington (Orlando, FL) pairs a wide-eyed interest in the paranormal with the surreal atmospheres conjured by layers of sound and texture inherent in their brand of shoegaze and post rock. "This Florida-based rock band has a sound that’s equal parts heavy and enchanting. Their new track “Desert Sky” is filled with walls of crunchy distorted riffs and a gargantuan rhythm section that juxtaposes its spacey vocals and soaring guitar harmonies unbelievably well. This is next-level post-rock for shoegaze lovers and X-Files fans. If and when our interstellar overlords reappear over Washington D.C., may they bask in the glory of Saucers Over Washington’s warm and fuzzy rock sound." - James Alvarez of L.A.'s Get Some Magazine (https://getsomemagazine.com/blog/saucers-over-washington-desert-sky) Photography by Megan Cahill.
