For over two decades, Nigerian Afrobeats star D'Banj (born Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo) has been an undeniable force in African music. He picked up the harmonica as a teenager to honor his late brother–a loss that sparked a lifelong passion for music and later culminated in a groundbreaking partnership with super-producer Don Jazzy.
D'Banj burst onto the scene with "Tongolo" and his hit debut album No Long Thing, seamlessly blending urban dance-pop and Afropop. His infectious sound opened doors to major global collaborations with icons like Snoop Dogg , Akon, and Big Sean. D'Banj has amassed over 130 million+ streams on Spotify and his "Oliver Twist" video has over 70 million views making it one of the most-watched Nigerian music videos on YouTube to date.
Beyond music, D'Banj is a dedicated entrepreneur and the founder and CEO of the C.R.E.A.M. platform. Built to empower the next generation, C.R.E.A.M. provides emerging talent with a direct bridge to global development, distribution, resources, and career opportunities. Through the platform, D'Banj is working to build a stronger future for African talent and ensuring the next generation can compete and thrive on the world stage from their home country in Africa.
In recent years, D'Banj has also become a passionate advocate for mental health. Following the heartbreaking loss of his son in 2018, he found a profound calling in speaking openly about the power of faith, community, and the deep healing process required to navigate profound grief.
