Arbise Gonzalez, professionally known as Motiff, is a Latin GRAMMY-winning producer, artist, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and creative architect whose work has helped define the sound of modern Latin music. With a career spanning more than two decades, he has built a catalog of Billboard No. 1 hits, multi-platinum records, and Grammy-recognized projects across salsa, Latin pop, urban, and global crossover. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a wide range of global superstars across genres, including David Bisbal, Gloria Trevi, Yuri, Farruko, Don Omar, Daddy Yankee, Wyclef Jean, Zion & Lennox, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Bad Bunny, reflecting a career that bridges generations, genres, and global audiences.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Motiff was raised inside music. The son of a percussionist for La Billo’s Caracas Boys, he grew up immersed in live performance before entering a conservatory at a young age. After relocating to Miami as a teenager, he began developing his signature sound, working across sessions that would lay the foundation for his emergence as a sought-after producer.
During this early phase, he contributed to Creo en Mí by Natalia Jiménez, producing multiple records on the project. The album debuted at No. 2 on Billboard’s Latin Albums chart and earned a Latin GRAMMY nomination, marking one of his earliest contributions to a major award-recognized Latin pop release.
Motiff’s global breakthrough came in 2012 with Gloria Estefan’s “Hotel Nacional,” which debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Songs chart and reached No. 1 on the Dance charts, establishing him at the highest level of the industry.
Between 2014 and 2016, he entered a defining run that would shape a generation of Latin music. During this period, he produced Víctor Manuelle’s “Que Suenen Los Tambores,” which dominated Billboard’s Tropical charts and earned both GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY nominations. He also produced “Me Voy Enamorando (Remix)” by Chino & Nacho featuring Farruko, one of the most successful crossover records of its era.
This momentum continued with “La Gozadera” and “Traidora” by Gente de Zona and Marc Anthony — global hits that amassed billions of streams and became cultural anthems across Latin America and beyond, earning Motiff BMI Contemporary Latin Songwriter of the Year honors.
In 2016, his work on Gente de Zona’s album Visualízate contributed to a Latin GRAMMY win for Best Tropical Fusion Album, marking a major milestone in his career.
That same period also saw him expand into the urban space with “Vacaciones” for Wisin, a multi-platinum Billboard No. 1 hit that became one of the defining Latin urban records of its time.
In the following years, Motiff continued to operate at the highest level of the industry. His role as associate producer on Pa’llá Voy by Marc Anthony contributed to a project that won both the GRAMMY for Best Tropical Latin Album and the Latin GRAMMY for Best Salsa Album, while also receiving nominations in major categories including Album of the Year.
In 2023, he contributed to La Fórmula, the collaboration between Marc Anthony and Maluma, a high-profile release tied to the Latin GRAMMY Record of the Year category, reinforcing his continued presence within award-recognized productions.
In parallel, Motiff emerged as a central figure in the resurgence of modern salsa, producing and developing a new generation of artists shaping the genre’s global future. His work with Luis Figueroa has resulted in multiple GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY-nominated projects, while his collaborations with Daniela Darcourt contributed to Catarsis, a Latin GRAMMY-nominated album for Best Salsa Album, further reinforcing his role in elevating the genre at an international level.
This impact extends across a broader wave of emerging voices connected to his creative vision, including Ronald Borjas, Luis Vázquez, Christian Alicea, Norbert, and Servando & Florentino, among others — artists who represent a new era of salsa that blends tradition with contemporary production. Through projects like Salsa de Ahora, Motiff has positioned himself not only as a producer, but as a curator and driving force behind the next generation of salseros.
He has also continued bridging generations and styles through projects such as “Misterio” with J Balvin and Gilberto Santa Rosa, reinforcing his role as a connector between contemporary and traditional Latin sounds.
In 2026, Motiff reached another milestone with the Billboard No. 1 hit “Como en el Idilio” by Marc Anthony and Nathy Peluso, continuing his presence at the top of the charts in the current era.
Beyond production, Motiff has stepped forward as an artist and cultural innovator. His project Salsa de Ahora represents a movement-driven vision of the genre, blending tradition with contemporary production and generating over 5 million streams while earning a Premio Lo Nuestro nomination.
Today, Motiff stands at the intersection of sound, culture, and live performance, taking the stage as a core member of Marc Anthony’s band in the VEGAS… MY WAY! residency — one of the most prominent Latin residencies in the world. Beyond the main stage, he leads the Late Night Sessions, a live extension that has rapidly evolved into his own residency platform, where he fronts his band and curates a new generation of sound in real time.
With a career that spans global anthems, Grammy-winning and nominated projects, and a catalog that has shaped multiple eras of Latin music, Motiff is no longer simply contributing to the culture — he is helping define it. From the studio to the stage, he represents a rare convergence of producer, artist, and visionary, actively building the future of Latin music as it unfolds.
