Bio

Hella is a boundary-pushing artist whose music reflects his evolving personal and sonic journey. Born in Masindi, Uganda, located in Bristol, UK, his sound merges his vocal talents and storytelling that depicts the intensity of city life. Initially feeling disconnected from his heritage, music became his bridge between cultures. With deep ties to Bristol’s electronic scene, Hella emerged from the dubstep world, performing alongside Mala, Kahn, Neek, Innamind Records, with standout sets for Keep Hush. Now, he transitions to a more emotive strain of electronica, blending UK bass, garage, and experimental textures with introspective vocal storytelling and bold production. His releases on Infernal Sounds, Duploc, Gutterfunk, and The North Quarter have earned support from Om Unit, Laurent Garnier, Saint Ludo, Sicaria, and BBC Radio 1, with over 3.25M streams on his edits. With backing from UKF, BBC Radio 1’s Lauren I-Ho, Hella’s latest work marks a turning point, cementing his place as a genre-blending force in experimental electronic music.

With future releases on Prague’s YUKU coming this year, alongside collaborations with 1-800 GIRLS, Lawrence Hart & DJ Carpenter to name a few. Fans of forward-thinking, experimental music will find much to love as Hella forges an exciting new path.
