Gysele Ryder is an R&B singer and producer. Originally born in New York, she moved to the Bay Area, California to study medicine at UC Berkeley. One thing led to another, and she began DJing with friends of hers involved in the local club circuit. After dropping out of Cal, she picked up a gig hosting a pirate radio segment in the East Bay, and became fascinated with the art of recording and music production. Originally taking the name Grey Davies, the budding producer found community through a local audio college. She released four albums under this moniker, which are still available somewhere, for those with eyes to see. After returning to the Bay Area in 2022, Gysele Ryder was born.
Frequent collaborations with San Francisco producer Daniel “The D3” Cohen led to the first few singles, “True” and “Famous” under this new name. The following year saw the release of “Faith in High Fidelity," an album entirely written, recorded and engineered by Gysele. February 2025 saw the release of “Love & The Body Eternal." Gysele once again took charge of the recording and mixing, then sent it off to mastering just in time for the Valentine's Day release. It has been well-received by audiences in the Bay and beyond, especially “Shine On,” a track featuring popular Vallejo rapper LaRussell that took off on streaming thanks to its placement in editorial playlists. Later in 2025 Gysele teamed up with vocal producer Pamela Parker to record “Indulgence,” an 8-track mixtape of sorts with her most daring vocals yet.
2026 marked the release of “A Moment of Your Time," an album inspired by late nights in the SF jazz scene. The feeling is intimate, the groove is laid-back, and the songs span the life of a party, as visitors enter and eventually leave.
For the next year Gysele will be undertaking a large-scale composition project entitled Cosmos.
