Historic Year for the Iconic Group Continues with a Latin GRAMMY® Nomination, a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a Historic Night at the Zócalo in Mexico City
Miami, FL. (September 16, 2026) — Intocable celebrates another important achievement in an extraordinary year by receiving a 2026 Latin GRAMMY® nomination for Best Regional Mexican Song for “Estamos Todos.” Written by Ricardo “Ricky” Muñoz, Pablo Preciado Rojas, and Johnny Lee Rosas, this powerful song about unity, hope, and resilience was released in August 2025 and quickly became a cultural statement, reflecting Intocable’s deep connection with Mexican and Mexican-American audiences.
“‘Estamos Todos’ was born from so many unanswered questions. From trying to understand what’s happening with Latinos in the United States, but also from trying to understand each other. Sometimes, when the world makes you feel like you don’t belong, the most powerful thing someone can remind you is that you’re not alone. Maybe we don’t have all the answers, but we can be there for each other while we find them. That’s what this song is about: knowing that, in the end, we’re all in this together. Thank you to the Academy for the nomination,” said Ricky Muñoz, lead singer of Intocable.
The nomination comes just months after Intocable was honored with the 2,852nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Recording category, recognizing the group's more than three decades of musical influence. Last night, Intocable returned to Mexico City's iconic Zócalo for the country's Independence Day celebrations, performing before a record-breaking crowd of over 300,000 people gathered for the festivities.
From “Estamos Todos” to the Hollywood Walk of Fame and now a historic night in the heart of Mexico, Intocable continues to prove that their music transcends borders and generations. With over three decades shaping Mexican music, six Diamond certifications from the RIAA's Latin program, and a legacy that continues to grow, the group now adds a new chapter to its story with a 2026 Latin GRAMMY® nomination.
The 27th Annual Latin GRAMMY® Awards will take place on November 12 in Las Vegas.
About Intocable
Intocable is one of the most influential and successful groups in Regional Mexican music history. Formed in the early 1990s in Zapata, Texas, by Ricky Muñoz (lead vocals and accordion) and René Martínez (drums), the band redefined the norteño and Tejano sound by blending traditional accordion-driven rhythms with contemporary melodies and polished songwriting.
Their breakthrough came in the late 1990s with a string of chart-topping albums, including Contigo, which established Intocable as one of Latin music's premier touring and recording acts. Over the years, they have earned multiple No. 1 albums on the Billboard Regional Mexican and Latin Albums charts, with numerous releases also crossing over to the Billboard 200. Their remarkable consistency has made them one of the best-selling and most enduring acts in the genre.
Renowned for their electrifying live performances, Intocable has sold out some of the most prestigious venues in the United States and Mexico, including multiple nights at Mexico City's Auditorio Nacional and stadium concerts drawing more than 70,000 fans. Their loyal fan base has made them one of the strongest concert attractions in Latin music for more than three decades.
The band's journey has also been marked by resilience. Following the tragic loss of two members and their road manager in a 1999 automobile accident, Intocable returned with the landmark album Contigo, honoring their fallen bandmates and emerging stronger than ever. The emotional comeback further deepened their connection with audiences across generations.
Throughout their career, Intocable has received widespread critical acclaim, earning multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards, Premio Lo Nuestro honors, Billboard recognitions—including Regional Mexican Group of the Decade and a Lifetime Achievement Award—and numerous chart-topping singles. Albums such as Diez, Crossroads: Cruce de Caminos, En Peligro de Extinción, Highway, and Percepción showcase the band's continued evolution while remaining true to their signature sound.
More than 30 years after their debut, Intocable continues to innovate while honoring their musical roots. Their enduring influence, exceptional catalog, and unwavering connection with fans have secured their place as one of the most respected and iconic groups in Latin music.
