Customize this sectioMoorea Masa (pronounced More-ray-uh Mah-sa) is a Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, and guitarist originally from Portland, Oregon. The daughter of an Italian immigrant father and a Black mother born abroad, Moorea grew up surrounded by music and began performing in Portland clubs at fifteen, becoming part of the city’s vibrant music community.

Known for honest songwriting, deeply personal lyrics, lush harmonies, and soulful grooves, Moorea works as both a solo artist and sought-after background vocalist. She has lent her voice to artists including k.d. lang, Aloe Blacc, Allen Stone, Aaron Frazer, Durand Jones & The Indications, Big Wild, Rachael Price of Lake Street Dive, The Motet, El Vy, and Nick Waterhouse, as well as the animated series Bob’s Burgers and Central Park. As a songwriter, she has worked with The Suffers, Allen Stone, Raelee Nikole, Erik Krasno, and others.

Moorea has toured internationally, headlined tours throughout Europe, and opened for artists including, Corinne Bailey Rae, Allen Stone, Emily King, Lawrence, The Dip, Lady Wray, Bernhoft, Otis Kane, Son Little, and more. Most recently, she spent the summer singing and featuring with Allen Stone, opening for Chris Stapleton across the country.

Her 2024 record, When The Summer Calls, has surpassed 7 million streams and earned support from multiple editorial playlists, with the single “Distraction” featured on All American: Homecoming. Alongside her music, Moorea uses her platform as an activist, raising funds and awareness for mental health, BIPOC and immigrant rights organizations.

She is also the founder of Rosmarina, a new Italo-disco project that has reached listeners around the world and sold out its first two vinyl pressings.
