SoMo

SoMo is one of the defining independent R&B artists of the streaming era. Emerging from Dallas, Texas, he first captured the internet’s attention through viral cover renditions before breaking through with his triple platinum-certified hit “Ride” and his gold-certified self-titled debut album, which debuted in the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Over the past decade, SoMo has built a fiercely loyal fanbase through a combination of genre-blending songwriting, unmistakable vocals, and a direct-to-fan approach that helped pioneer the modern independent artist model.

With billions of streams across his catalog and a career that has spanned multiple albums, sold-out tours, and countless viral moments, SoMo has remained a consistent presence in contemporary R&B while continuing to evolve creatively. Recent projects including 9 Lives and The Duality of Man showcased a more mature and reflective side of his artistry, expanding on the emotional honesty that has always connected with listeners.

In 2026, SoMo launched his Reborn series, revisiting some of the most beloved songs from his catalog with newly recorded vocals, updated production, and a fresh perspective shaped by more than a decade of growth. Releases including “Ride [Reborn],” “Show Off [Reborn],” and “Back To The Start [Reborn]” have reintroduced fan favorites to a new generation while giving longtime listeners a chance to experience them through a renewed lens.

Now entering a new chapter, SoMo continues to bridge nostalgia and reinvention, proving that great songs and great artists can evolve without losing what made them resonate in the first place.
