Cashmere Williams began his musical journey at the age of seven, playing in church, where he developed a deep sense of musicality and learned the art of blending with other musicians—laying the foundation for the signature sound that would become his own.
In 2003, Williams joined American Idol winner Ruben Studdard on a national tour, performing on some of television’s most prominent platforms, including The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and The View, among others.
Most recently, Williams introduced his gospel-jazz project, Awesome, a powerful collection of praise and worship instrumentals that also showcases his vocal performance on the original composition “We Need You.”
Now, through his new book, Behind the Strings, Williams shares his personal testimony of faith, perseverance, and purpose. Having accepted his calling into ministry, he is using his music and testimony to spread the gospel, encourage others, and help people discover the purpose God has placed within them.
