Bio

Maldita Vecindad y Los Hijos del 5º Patio are widely recognized as one of the most influential and culturally significant bands in the history of Mexican rock. Formed in Mexico City in 1985, the group created a groundbreaking fusion of ska, punk, rock, and traditional Mexican rhythms that helped define the Latin alternative movement and expand the international presence of Mexican artists.

Fronted by the unmistakable Roco Pachukote, the band achieved global recognition with their landmark 1991 album El Circo, which sold more than one million copies in Mexico and produced enduring anthems including “Pachuco” and “Kumbala.” Over four decades, Maldita Vecindad has brought its electrifying live performances to major stages across the Americas and Europe, sharing bills with artists such as INXS, Leonard Cohen, Radiohead, Jane’s Addiction, Sonic Youth, and Faith No More while continuing to unite multi-generational audiences through music rooted in culture, identity, and social consciousness.
