Born in Philadelphia and raised on his father's expansive record collection, Scott Avery's love of music was shaped by basement parties and neighborhood cookouts — spaces that fostered a genre-spanning appreciation for sound. In 2016, he relocated to Detroit, where the city's techno legacy became a constant source of inspiration. Following his father's passing in 2018, those early memories prompted a deeper engagement with electronic music. His debut EP, Child Self, introduced an approach rooted in curiosity rather than genre convention — drawing freely from techno, house, disco, soul, and hip-hop. Since then, Avery has built a growing catalog on his independent label 48208 World, collaborating with artists including Jay Daniel, Russell E.L. Butler, and vocalist Monica Blaire, and contributing a remix to SCAN 7's Hallowed Ground. Across his releases, he treats genres as raw materials, creating music that balances emotional depth, conceptual play, and a restless sense of exploration.
